The area is known for marks building up on the estate hallway carpets either side of the Crouch, along with musty ground-floor carpet in the low-lying streets by the Crouch flood channel and commuter-boot grit working into the wool pile and the hall carpet. A professional carpet cleaning sorts it in one visit.
Only in the lowest streets near the channel, and only a little. Our carpet cleaning is low-moisture, and the machine pulls water back out as it cleans, so nothing we do adds to any damp already in the ground.
